Fort Irvine is the largest employer by far.

Hesperia is a larger town further away from the post. The trip by car will take about an hour and a half. The population here is about 95,000 people. The city has a long history that begins in 1781. Boxing legend Jack Dempsey was one of the developers in the 1950s who began to attract visitors and residents to the area with a variety of new facilities and amenities. There is considerable economic activity here, with employers representing the education, civil government, retail and catering sectors.
