Its large size and capacity made it a unique rifle. I have been driving it for several years now and it has been a constant companion. It's small, easy to shoot, reliable, and gives me options. Now after a few years there is a debate about getting a pair. Looking at P365 vs P365xl, which is better for concealed carry?
In early June 2019, major retailers in the industry began listing SIG Sauer OEM 15 round magazines on their websites. They are actually out of stock, no picture. Just an introduction, but there are rumors that something big is coming.

Finally, the SIGP365XL team has entered the business. A few vendors leaked the information, and I contacted my friends at SIG for an official announcement, who happily gave me the sheet.

The SIG P365XL isn't out yet, so we compared it based on our experience with the P365 and guns like the Glock 48. Interestingly, both the G48 and G43X are responses to potential mag P365.

There are no markings on where the finish is applied or any instability in its use. It is smooth and perfect. SIG uses stainless steel as the metal under the Nitron finish, so there is a strong second layer of corrosion resistance.
The black polymer frame is well built and has a plastic molding to show where the mold is assembled.
While the Slide wears the P365 badge, you'll also see the XL badge on the XL variant. The SIG SAUER name runs directly on the black polymer frame as well, which I really like. Like the P320 series, the P365 uses an internal chassis that allows you to remove the "firearm" from the holder module.
This allows you to change frames and even buy custom frames in different colors. It's a simple system that seems to work well. It can also allow the standard S3 P365 slider to run on the P365X frame and vice versa.

Back to the story, the P365 XL comes with a 3.7-inch longer barrel and an overall length of 6.6 inches. The rifle weighs 20.07 ounces, with a clean magazine capacity of 12 rounds of P365. In addition, there are 15 circular magazines that extend the height a little. This is a great addition to the P365 extended magazine rifle. Speaking of height, it is 4.8 inches long with a 12 round magazine.
These are very different guns, but both are small for their class. The P365 is very small compared to guns like the Glock 26. The same goes for the P365 XL. The P365 XL's closest competitor is the Glock 19, which has a P365 xl 15-round magazine. However, the P365 XL is shorter, lighter and thinner than the Glock 19. In fact, it rivals the Glock 48 in size while offering 2-5 more rounds.
The SIG P365 is one of the most ergonomic small guns out there. The grip is long enough to fill the hand and the undercut design of the trigger guard allows you to hold the gun very high. The slim grip is the best on the market. It is more round than square and fits the hand perfectly. Both guns are perfect for large and small hands.
The P365 XL comes with a vertical, horizontal trigger that makes it easy to reach for people with small hands. The XL trigger is the same in terms of pull weight, but the trigger is just shorter and breaks when at a 90 degree angle. It's a great addition, and I'd like to see the P365 standard adopt it.
Controls are the same between standard models. The standard P365 has a version that includes a thumb safety, the XL model does not. Both the P365 and P365 XL are ergonomic and well-designed devices.

Can the P365 XL do even better? There are. We have already mentioned the advanced smooth face trigger of P365 XL. This will give you more impulse control and get a shorter impulse. Plus, you still get excellent night vision as a stock option. You also get two 12-round magazines with an additional 15-round mag that will be released soon.
Plus, you get the feature that sold me on the gun, the damaged slide for the red dot. A red dot is a great addition to your rifle. The P365 XL features a new Romeo Zero optic or a milled slide to mount the RMSc Red Dot Shield. The red dot on the rifle makes it easier to shoot faster, longer and more accurately. It takes some practice to get it right, but once you learn, it's hard to go back to the iron. This feature may settle the Sig P365 XL VS Sig P365 red dot sight debate.
Sig Sauer P365 Custom Milling And Optic Cuts
The Romeo Zero will be released at the same time as the P365 XL. The sliding plate covers your rear sight and puts the optics far back. The P365 XL also has a slightly longer beavertail, which gives you more control over your weapon and makes it more comfortable to shoot.
The grip also has an integrated carrier to make shooting the gun faster and more intuitive.
If you have big hands like me, reloading the standard P365 can be difficult. This integrated magwell allows you to reload without the risk of replacing the magazine.
One of the most pleasant surprises about the P365 was how easy it was to handle. It didn't hit or kick the handle, which is rare for a pocket size 9mm. The P365 is a great gun. There's a bit of buzz and mouth, but it's still under control. The small bore of the P365 doesn't even interfere with the slide, which is rare for such a small gun.
