Pics Of Glock - Confused by all the Glock models? You're not alone, but we're here to guide you through them!
The Glock is one of the most popular service pistols of modern times, which is impressive for a company that was founded to make sniper rifles. Gaston Gluck had no experience in making weapons, but he had experience in making polymers. He assembled Europe's best pistol experts, created the Glock 17 prototype in 1982, and the rest is Austrian history.
Pics Of Glock
Glock pistols are polymer framed, semi-automatic, short recoil, with a locked bolt and striker. Well, most of them are - the G44 is a blowback gun and the only gun that breaks the mold. Glock pistols come in tons of different calibers and different sizes. It wasn't the first polymer framed rifle, but it was the first very successful polymer rifle.
What Gen Is My Glock
The G17 was the first model produced and was designed to meet the needs of the Austrian Army. The specific needs of the Austrian military led to the development of the weapon and defined the Glock pistol to this day. The Austrian Army needed a safe, lightweight, high-capacity, and reliable semi-automatic pistol, and the Glock filled that need.
Glock has a simple way of naming their pistols. Each model is assigned a number after the letter G, which presumably stands for Glock. The numbers themselves have nothing to do with the firearm and may seem arbitrary to many - for example, the G45 is not a .45 caliber pistol, it is actually a 9mm.
Designs are numbered as they are launched, not in the order they are released. So while the G20 and 21 started development before the 22 and 23, the 22 and 23 were released first.
The G17 hit the streets at a time when handgun safeties were the norm. Glock plastic fantastics don't have handguards, but that doesn't mean they aren't safe. Glock calls its pistol the Glock Safe Action Pistol, referring to the three built-in independent safety devices.

The trigger guard is that famous little shim that sits in the middle of the trigger. Your finger presses down on the trigger guard when you pull the trigger, so without activating the trigger guard, the trigger cannot be pulled.
The striker's guard stops the forward movement of the striker when the striker is hit. When the trigger is pulled, the trigger pushes the firing pin safety up and out of the way. If you release the trigger before firing, the firing pin safety automatically snaps back into place.
DropGuard is a tool that does exactly what you think. Dropping the gun ensures that it cannot fire. As you pull the trigger, the trigger moves down the safety ramp and allows the firing pin to release.
Glock is currently in its fifth generation. New generations come when Glock brings changes, both external and internal. There is no timeline for when Glock generations end or begin, they evolve as needed.

The release of a new generation does not always mean that the previous generations disappear. Often newer and older generations of Glock are produced side by side.
There are also guns that exist outside of the designated Glock generations. Some weapons are all over the place and may be missing race markers to determine which race the weapon is. Some guns are also divided by generation, usually between Gen 2 and Gen 3 guns. Glock fans often refer to them as Gen 2.5 rifles.
Gen 1 - The first GLX on the market. Plain and simple: these are guns that work. The Gen 1 is built entirely from one pistol, the Glock 17.
Gen 2 - Glock added different sizes and calibers with the Gen 2 models. A metal plate with a serial number was installed, a one-piece guide rod system was made, a checkerboard was added to the front and rear of the grip, and the magazine base plate was replaced.

Gen 3 - The third generation where rails become the standard choice for guns larger than subcompacts. The grip has added finger tips and scallops on the left and right sides of the frame that act as finger rests.
Internal changes include a cross pin on the trigger pin to reduce pressure on the locking block. Extraction still stopped when the camera was loaded and acted as a loaded camera indicator.
Gen 4 - With the Gen 4, Glock made the pistol grip slightly smaller and added a modular rear attachment system to change the size of the grip. The grip was also made more aggressively and the magazine release was reversible for lefties.
The Gen 4 also has a dual spring recoil rod that reduces the recoil feel. Gen 4 was also the introduction of MOS rifles that allowed for easy mounting of optics.

Gen 5 - The latest generation of Glock is the Gen 5. These rifles saw the elimination of finger grooves, the magazine well was enlarged for faster loading, a higher relief cut on the trigger guard for better grip and locking. The slider is now double-sided.
Additionally, Glock added a new grade matching barrel to the gun, and the cross pin above the trigger guard was also removed.
Now that you've covered the basics, we can move on to specific models, categories, and more in Part 2!

These include the Glock Model 20 10mm and the Glock Model 21.45 ACP pistols. Introduced in 1990, the Model 21 in .45 ACP competed with other large caliber weapons in police service. Americans need more bullets in their defense pistols and my own opinion on this is America.
The gun is well received. Good reliability and accuracy are good selling points. Another strong point is that the magazine holds 13 rounds of .45 ACP ammunition, giving the gun a total capacity of 14.
The downside of the gun is its size. Female shooters with small hands and long fingers often do well with the Glock 21, although training and a thorough familiarity with the type is necessary. While the gun is bulky due to the polymer frame, it is quite light.
When you consider the whole picture, the Glock offers significant firepower in a lightweight package. For example, the original Colt 1911 Government Model in the same caliber weighs 39 ounces. The current service pistol, the 9mm Beretta 92, weighs 35 ounces and holds 15 rounds of the less effective 9mm round.

Another advantage of Glock is simplicity. The design of the safety action offers only one trigger action to learn, unlike the double-action, first-shot pistol, which requires you to learn both double-action and single-action shooting. There is no manual safety.
The lever on the trigger is not a true safety; This is a drop safety designed to prevent acceleration from trigger movement if you drop the gun. The Glock safety trigger is triggered when you depress the slide, with the trigger under pressure. The striker or striker is partially bent at this point. As you continue to pull the trigger, the firing pin is forced back, broken by the pressure of the spring, and flies forward as the gun fires. As the slide moves back, the action is partially engaged and you can fire the gun with another short pull of the trigger.
The Glock action safety has been proven reliable in practice and offers a trigger that is easy to learn quickly. Although there is no manual safety, the main safety is between the ears, and the Glock shooter must know to keep the fingers off the trigger until they are ready to fire.
The Glock Model 21 has proven to be as reliable as other Glock pistols, meaning reliability is held to a high standard. Compared to other .45 ACP pistols, the Glock Model 21 offers moderately felt recoil. Despite its light weight, the polymer frame recoils slightly, and the large grip distributes recoil throughout the palm. The Glock Model 21 is one of the lightest recoil pistols chambered in .45 ACP.

Combined with a lower bore axis than many others, the result is a rifle that is more controllable and accurate in combat shooting. The Glock Model 21 is also one of the most consistently accurate among Glock pistols. Some Glocks are not very accurate, and the Model 21 often provides better results.
Like all quality pistols, the Glock Model 21 performs better with one type of ammunition than another, but even so, the accuracy rate is often high for a service-grade pistol. Cycle reliability is good with all types of ammunition. + Not P rated ammunition
